Microblading Correction & Coverup - in July

Cathleen got microbladed 3 times by 2 previous artists in 2015, 2016, and 2017. After they healed, each time the pigment turned red. On top of that, she ended up with multiple tails on one brow because the second artist was thrown off by the work of the previous artist. And when you look up close and feel the hairstrokes, there were noticeable grooves and slight scarring left behind.

The good thing is, Cathleen left her brows alone since 2018 so that it could lighten and fade on its own. We could have gone in for removal/lightening today but there was a good amount that could be covered up, and for the little parts that would peak through, they were going to be less noticeable once her brows had actual color again. I prefer to hold off on removals when a client is ok with it. The reason is, the more “work” done on your skin, the more trauma is done as well. Whether it is microblading, shading, ombre, removal, etc. it’s all trauma on your skin. Obviously, there are cases where removal/lightening is a must but we’ll see how this heals at the touch up and assess at that point.

We agreed to a color correction and cover up today. We first mapped her shape. I then went in with the @permablend Olive Corrector on the red areas within the shape we agreed on, to neutralize the red strokes. You can see that in process in the middle photo on the first slide. And then we added her custom mixed color. Full disclosure, there were some red strokes we covered up with a bit of concealer under the brows.

I know it’s hard to trust another artist after all this so I am so grateful for you Cathleen. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Let me know if you have any questions about this whole process, how long it takes, etc.
